We are Hiring! 

First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, Duxbury is seeking to hire a part time (20 hours/week) Religious Education professional.

Title:  Religious Education Administrator  

First Parish Duxbury is searching for a part time Religious Education Administrator to start August 2024. This is a 20 hour a week position with potential to grow.  First Parish is looking for a person who is committed to Unitarian Universalism, has religious education experience, is an excellent communicator, displays superior organization skills and most of all loves working with children and families!  

This Position reports to the Minister.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and orient all new children, youth  and families. Ensure that all children are properly registered and attendance is collected each week.
  • Create a safe and inclusive environment for attending children and families
  • Select and implement RE Curriculum, including OWL
  • Ensure that teachers are adequately prepared for Sunday lessons as needed.  
  • Recruit and communicate with volunteers 
  • Work with RE Committee, Minister and Church Admin. to develop the annual RE Calendar.
  • Ensure that childcare for toddlers and infants is adequately staffed each week. 
  • Coordinate and attend all special holiday events as outlined in the annual calendar 
  • Lead and coordinate weekly Children’s Chapel
  • Meet monthly or as needed with the Religious Education Committee
  • Work closely with the Minister to ensure that the spiritual needs of children and youth are met.
  • Develop and post communications for the FPC weekly email distro, monthly newsletter and social media
  • Participate in, and help plan, the All Ages component of worship alongside the Minister.
  • Attend staff meetings as needed
  • Attend Board Meetings as needed
  • Commit to professional RE development 
  • Assist with Youth Group Development 

 

Qualities and Qualifications:

Be an articulate and enthusiastic voice for Unitarian Universalism

Possess strong oral and written communication skills

Have experience with Unitarian Universalist education

Work well independently and as a team player

Available to be in- person on Sunday Mornings from 9:30am -12pm and occasional Sunday evenings

Compensation:

Salary range 25,000-30,000
